Invitation: Blackie Town Hall
Blackie families are invited to join a Community Town Hall meeting on Monday August 30, from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.
We know there are many questions regarding the school modernization, what learning may look like off-site, and how we're working to restore full learning opportunities within Blackie School as soon as possible. Our division and school leadership, transportation, and facilities teams will be available to ensure your family has answers prior to the beginning of the school year.
If you are unable to attend the meeting and still have questions, please contect:

Dear Blackie School Family,
The first day of school is fast approaching and we join you in excitement for the 2021-22 school year!
Throughout the summer we have been made aware of various supply issues and additional needs regarding the ongoing modernization work at Blackie School. While FSD and the contractor were hopeful that deadlines can be met, the school will not be ready for students to return as anticipated this September.
We’re thankful to Spitzee School who has offered required space and resources to temporarily welcome Blackie School students next month. We’re preparing to provide transportation for Grade 1-8 students into High River to utilize these learning spaces. Pre-School and Kindergarten students will continue using the upstairs of the Blackie Skating Rink.
We’re optimistic that all students will be able to safely return to Blackie School after Thanksgiving and look forward to celebrating our modernized school with the community. We recognize that this isn’t ideal and will cause an inconvenience for some families. Our goal is to restore full learning opportunities within Blackie School as soon as possible.
More information will be provided by the school in the coming days. We thank you for your understanding and patience as Blackie School staff work through these unexpected details.
