Family Literacy Day!
Family Literacy Day – January 27th
Family Literacy Day was created in 1999 by ABC Life Literacy Canada to celebrate parents and children reading and learning together to become lifelong learners. This day is held annually to encourage Canadian families to spend at least 15 minutes a day enjoying a learning activity together.
This year, Heritage Heights is celebrating Family Literacy Day on Tuesday, January 27th. We have many reasons to celebrate, and we would like to invite families to join us. Our celebration will begin at 8:45, when the entire school will drop everything and read for 30 minutes. Every student in the school will be asked to bring a book, dress in pyjamas or comfy clothes and READ. Everyone is encouraged to read silently, aloud, on their own, with a parent or anyone who joins us for this special event.
