Shanda Dupras appointed Interim Principal at Heritage Heights School

I am so excited to continue working alongside our incredible staff, students, and families to help every child pursue academic excellence and inspire them to become people of integrity and strong character.

As part of ongoing administrative staffing arrangements, Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Shanda Dupras as Interim Principal at Heritage Heights School, effective for the 2026–2027 school year. 

Shanda brings quality educational leadership experience, a strong commitment to student success, and a deep understanding of the Foothills School Division community to this role. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a passion for fostering meaningful relationships, building positive school cultures, and supporting both student achievement and staff growth.

A dedicated lifelong learner, Shanda holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Victoria and has completed graduate studies in Interdisciplinary Leadership at the University of Calgary. Her commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement reflects her belief in authentic learning, collaboration, and the development of strong educational communities.

Over more than two decades in education, Shanda has served in a variety of leadership and instructional roles, including Regional Instructional Coach, Academic & Career Advisor, Learning Lead, and classroom teacher. Her experience spans kindergarten to grade12 and includes leading professional learning, supporting instructional design, facilitating assessment practices, and working collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families to strengthen learning environments.

Ms. Dupras’s connection with Heritage Heights School further strengthens her transition into this role, having previously served as a grade 9 Humanities and Leadership teacher. Her positive connection to students, families, and staff, combined with her knowledge of the school and system-level leadership experience, positions her well for the coming year.

Entering the role of Interim Principal, Shanda Dupras shares:
