Carolyn Lenstra appointed Vice-Principal at Highwood High School

Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the following School Leadership appointment for the 2023-2024 School Year 

Please join us in congratulating Ms. Carolyn Lenstra who has been appointed Vice-Principal of Highwood High School effective August 26, 2023.  

Carolyn is a dedicated teacher who has made strong contributions to student learning and school culture. As a passionate and accomplished teacher, Ms. Lenstra has a variety of formal and informal leadership experiences that prepare her for this opportunity. This school year Ms. Lenstra has been called upon to step into an Acting Vice-Principal assignment on two separate occasions and has served the school community well in this instructional leadership role.  

A collaborative approach to supporting all in her school community characterizes Carolyn’s leadership style. As a past Learning and Leading participant, a member of the e ÉSHHS Leadership Team & Physical Education PLT Lead Teacher, and a member of the FSD Innovation and Design Team Ms. Lenstra has demonstrated leadership competencies at a high level.  

A dedicated career long-learner, Carolyn holds her Master of Education from Gonzaga University; her Master of Teaching Bed from the University of Calgary; and her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary.  

As she prepares to move into the Vice-Principal role at ÉSHHS, Carolyn shares:  "I am humbled by the opportunity to continue to work and learn alongside the amazing staff and students at École Secondaire Highwood High School. I look forward to creating dynamic and effective relationships with all stakeholders and students alike. I am excited to explore our shared values as an active member of this learning community. Go Mustangs!"

Her knowledge of the school and school community, and commitment to school and student success will continue to enhance the great work of the school team.
