My name is Megan Carston and I am a science teacher at Ecole Secondaire Highwood High School. I teach courses in physics, general science, as well as some math and physical education. I am a former graduate of Highwood High School and grew up on a farm in the High River area. In my spare time, I love to play and coach volleyball as well as bake! I have previously coached JV/SV boys volleyball, as well as JV girls volleyball. I currently live in Okotoks with my husband and our two dogs.

If you are a student or parent of a student in one of my classes, all needed course material is posted in Google Classroom.

Department: Science

Course/Stream: Physics

In the physics stream, offered through Physics 20 and Physics 30, students will discover and investigate the physics principles at work in our everyday lives. Physics 20 focuses on four main units: Kinematics, Dynamics, Circular motion and Energetics, and Simple Harmonic Motion. Physics 30 has four main areas of focus as well: Momentum and Impulse, Electric and Magnetic Fields and Forces, Electromagnetic Radiation and Atomic Structure. Students will spend time performing lab experiments and solving problems using mathematics and physics principles.
