School and Grade 3 Student Approved Websites

Google Classroom: Our Grade 3 class has been set up in a secure Google Classroom specific for us. Some, not all, of our classroom materials will be available for students/parents to print or view at home. More importantly, it houses our secure virtual classroom video link should we find ourselves learning from home.

Reading A-Z:  aka RAZ Kids. Your child has access to this award-winning digital resource through Learning A-Z's website. They can listen to books, read independently, take quizzes, and work on assignments. I track student progress over time and review gaps in understanding via quizzes taken.

Mathletics: This online Math site allows students the chance to take learning into their own hands, developing their autonomy, problem-solving, and ability to work independently - at school and at home. I will also assign specific 'tasks' that complement and reinforce math concepts covered in class. These tasks must be completed before being granted access to games, other activities, and live Mathletics.

Get EPIC!: This online book resource is more like a virtual library than a reading program. I use it to assign specific books related to our Units of Inquiry, but the students are also able to choose books of their choice.

Typing: In this digital world it is important to start typing skills at an early age. It is recommended students log in to save their progress. Log in information will be sent home later in the school year.

Discovery Education: While mostly used by me to share information via the Smartboard, this website is also easy to navigate by students. They must use their school Gmail account to log in.

Learn Alberta's Online Reference Centre:  This is an amazing resource, full of information for all subject areas and grades (Yup! All the way to Grade 12). Contact me for "at-home" log-in information.

The following is a list of the TOP 5 sites Grade 3 will use on Learn Alberta.

  • Britannica School
  • Pebble Go
  • PowerKnowledge: Earth and Space Science
  • PowerKnowledge: Life Science
  • Scholastic GO!

Thank you for visiting the Grade 3 website page. Be sure to check out the MCSWildcats on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as well.
