Welcome Back Letter!

Welcome Back!

September 2, 2022
Hello Cayley School Families,

It’s that time of the year again! We are so excited to welcome our Cayley Learners back to school next week. As a school staff, we have spent time this week engaged in professional learning to prepare for your child’s learning journey this year.

Today, you will be receiving communication from your child’s homeroom teacher this year. This email will outline some housekeeping and important classroom information. Below are some important school wide details for you to be aware of:

First Days of School

This year, we will be following a staggered schedule for our first days of school. Our K-4 students will be attending on September 6th, and the 5-8 students will be attending September 7.On September 8, we will welcome all students back to school and also hold a welcome back assembly at 10:45 am. Friday, September 9, we will be having a Pancake Breakfast at the Community Hall. More communication about times will follow, and families are welcome to attend that morning with their child’s classroom. Thank you to the Oddfellows group and School Council for making this happen for us this year!

School Calendar and Staggered Start

Please see the Foothills School Division Calendar for 2022-23 School Year. Please note that Easter Break is a full two weeks for families to enjoy!

Parking Lot Notes

You will notice that our parking lot got an upgrade this summer! Fresh new painted lines and directional arrows indicate that our parking lot is ONE WAY traffic only. Please only park in the parking stalls, and not beyond the orange barricade. This will help to ensure student safety and visibility of students so that they can safely arrive and exit the school each day.

Boys and Girls Club- STILL ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS for PRESCHOOL and OUT OF SCHOOL CARE Programs.

Registration spots are filling up! We are still accepting registrations for the upcoming school year. Registration forms can be found on the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills Website (scroll down to see Cayley Information), or picked up at Cayley School, or phone the office and we would happily put one in your child’s backpack. They can be returned to the Cayley School Office once completed. Registration will be ongoing pending spaces. We are so excited!

If you have any questions, want to hear more about the club or inquire about subsidies for childcare, please feel free to reach out to Nicole Van Langen, Director of Operations for BGC Foothills (403-625-8841 or via email operationsBGCF@gmail.com

Learning Grounds Enhancements and Walking Track

Over the summer, we were able to have our learning grounds area established on the north side of the school, and we will continue adding and enhancing that area with the School Council. Our Walking Track project was delayed, so that project will begin in September. We are so excited to have some new areas on our playground for students to explore and learn in!
