Applications Open: Foothills Emergency Services Program 2023-2024

Become a cadet with the Foothills Emergency Services Program in High River!

The Foothills Emergency Services Program (FESP) is now accepting applicants to become cadets at the High River Fire Hall. Training will be based on Medical First Responder (MFR) and Fire Fighter Training (NFPA(1001), including Advanced First Aid and HCP CPR, Occupational Health and Safety Awareness and Career Counselling.

Prerequisites: 

The program is open to students in Grade 11 or Grade 12 as of September 2023 (for Okotoks, High River, and surrounding areas).

There are only 12 spots available in the program for the session starting October 2023.

It is recommended that students are enrolled in either Biology 20, Biology 30 and/or Sports Sciences.

Students must have credit in HCS 3000

(WorkplaceSafety Systems) prior to acceptance into the program.

Students will be asked to cover a small portion of the training cost ($250 per student) with the remaining amount to be covered by grants and donations. Participants will have access to a bursary to help offset these costs if necessary.
