     Keith Murray Music Scholarship    
Primary Criteria:
  • Best musician (must play an instrument) graduating from Highwood who is involved in music within the school and community
  • Must be attending a post-secondary institution in any field the year following their graduating year
  • Student in good academic standing in their classes
Candidates will submit a preliminary application here, and those shortlisted will receive detailed instructions on the electronic portfolio to be submitted by May 25, enabling the committee to make the final decision.

Amount: $10,000


Keith Murray Music Scholarship – Fill out form

     Town of High River Bursary     
Primary Criteria:
  • Currently attending either a Foothills School Division or Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division High School in High River and graduating within that year
  • Accepted into a program at a recognized Trade School, College or University
  • A resident in High River at the time the application is submitted.
Secondary Criteria
  • Demonstrate what they have done to make High River a better place to live, work and play.
  • Provide examples of outstanding leadership in school, recreation or the community.
  • Describe their chosen post-secondary program and how it will benefit High River.

     Western Financial Inspiration Award     
Primary Criteria: 
  • Graduating student who intends to seek further training or education from a post-secondary, trade school, online course, or the military
  • Has overcome adversity (mental health, physical disability, discrimination, financial hardship or family issues)
  • Has demonstrated kindness, determination, and courage to graduate from high school despite these challenges
Amount: $750


     BASF Canada Inc. Chemistry Scholarship     
Primary Criteria:  
  • Graduate of Highwood High School  
  • Demonstrated success in Chemistry 30 course (with a final mark of 80% or higher)  
  • Registered at a post-secondary institution and enrolled in a chemistry course during the first year.

BASF Canada Inc. Chemistry Scholarship – Fill out form

     Dave Delay Memorial Scholarship     
Primary Criteria:
  • Grade 12 student graduating and pursuing schooling to become a Heavy Equipment Technician.
Secondary Criteria:
  • Grade 12 student who is pursuing any other trade.
*School Year Marks, Proof of Registration and financial need are part of the consideration*

Dave Delay Memorial Scholarship – Fill out form

     Delanoy & Co. LLP Accountants Achievement Award     
Primary Criteria:
  • Highwood High School graduate with Alberta Diploma or Alberta Certificate of Achievement
  • Mark of over 75% in grade 12 math course.
  • Demonstrate effort and success in classroom and/or off-campus experience.
  • Registration in a post-secondary education business program, preferably but not limited to accounting.
Secondary Criteria:
  • Successful completion of Business Education modules
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Citizenship at school and in community
  • Good communication skills

Delanoy & Co. LLP Accountants Achievement Award – Fill out form

     Doctors' Perseverance Award     
Primary Criteria:
  • Continuing with post-secondary education
  • Dedicated learner
  • Positive attitude towards school
  • Graduate of Highwood High School (and a student who has attended Highwood for at least two full years)  
Secondary Criteria:  
  • Active member of one or more extra-curricular programs  
  • Good attendance and behavior record during high school.
Amount: (Variable) range usually somewhere from $400-$700 

Doctors' Perseverance Award – Fill out form

     Edge Imaging Talent and Tenacity Award     
For individuals who exhibit an outstanding commitment to their artistic pursuits
Primary Criteria:  
  • Passionate Engagement: Display a genuine passion for your chosen form of artistic expression, whether it's visual arts, performing arts, writing, or any other artistic medium.
  • Perseverance: Show resilience in the face of obstacles and setbacks, bouncing back from challenges with determination and perseverance.
  • Creativity: Showcase your ability to think creatively and innovatively, experimenting with your art and exploring new techniques and ideas. 

This scholarship will be awarded to two student who embody these qualities and do not let anything deter them from pursuing their artistic dreams. Keep fueling your passion, keep pushing yourself, and never forget the impact your dedication and hard work can have on the world around you!


Amount: $500 awarded to two students

Primary Criteria:
 Academic Achievement
• Extra-curricular involvement (priority given to Remembrance Day support or Veteran Association)
• Involvement in the Greater Community
• Related or other Work Experience
• Citizenship

    High River Legion Bursary 
Primary Criteria:
  • Military History 
  • Financial Need - proven on form attached
  • Beginning Post-Secondary school the year you apply
  • Can be applied for 3 times at the undergraduate level
  • Academic Achievement
  • Work Experience
  • Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Involvement
Amount: $1500 to a max of $3000. Due to the High River Legion on or before May 31.

  Scott Forbes Rotary Scholarship 
Fill out the attached application form, and include as much of the following information as possible. Submission deadline is May 29. The Rotary Club will be assessing your application and choosing a candidate.
Primary Criteria:   
• Documentation of volunteer or community service (including service with the Rotary Club of High River, if applicable)
• School documentation demonstrating consistent work ethic, a positive attitude toward learning, exemplary citizenship, and significant contributions to the school community
• Documentation of active participation in extracurricular activities
• Employer documentation demonstrating responsibility and commitment in the workplace
Amount: $5000
Scott Forbes Rotary Scholarship  – Fill out form
     Nutrien Ag Solution Award    
Primary Criteria:  
  • Continuing with post-secondary education at a recognized College of Agriculture, or school of Agriculture, or Technical Program in an agriculture-related field
  • High academic achievement in those courses required for post-secondary admission
  • Graduate of Highwood (and a student who has attended Highwood High School for at least 2 full years)  
Secondary Criteria:  
  • Citizenship and contribution to the school or community
  • Good attendance and behavior record during high school

     Sam Lee Memorial Scholarship    
Primary Criteria:
  • Has been accepted into a Post-Secondary program
  • Goes out of their way to help others
  • Cares for their friends and family
  • Makes people feel included
  • Approaches life with humour

     Mover and Shaker Award in Memory of Scott Forbes    
Primary Criteria: 
  • Must be pursuing post-secondary education
  • Must be a mover and a shaker in your community 
Amount: $250 to two individuals

   Belford Quon Memorial Scholarship  
Primary Criteria:  
  • Recipient must have attended Highwood for Grade 11 & 12 years, and be graduating.
  • Recipient must have an academic standing in the top 10% of his or her class.
  • Recipient must be registered at a recognized university.
Amount $2000 to a male candidate. 
Belf Quon Memorial Scholarship – Fill out form

Primary Criteria:  
  • Recipient must have attended Highwood for Grade 11 & 12 years, and be graduating.
  • Recipient must have an academic standing in the top 10% of his or her class.
  • Recipient must be registered at a recognized university.
Amount $2000 to a female candidate.
Toy Quon Memorial Scholarship – Fill out form
     Windmill Theatre Players Award    
Primary Criteria:  
  • Graduate of Highwood High School.
  • Attendance at a post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated involvement and skill in the drama program of Highwood High School.  
Secondary Criteria:  
  • Further study at post-secondary in the area of the dramatic arts.
  • School and community citizenship.

     Elsie MacLeod Memorial Award    
Primary Criteria:  
  • Graduate of Highwood High School.
  • Student in good standing and with good marks.
  • Consistent work ethic and respected by both peers and staff.
  • Heavily involved in all aspects of school life (academics, sport, music, fine arts & governance, etc.)
  • Must be registered in a post-secondary institute for the fall after graduation

Elsie MacLeod Memorial Award  – Fill out form

     Floyd and Maude Swartz Memorial Scholarship    
Primary Criteria
  • Have attended high school in High River for three years
  • Evidence of registration at a post-secondary institution
  • Demonstrate sound moral character, sincerity, Industry, financial need, and a contribution to school and community life

  • Scholastic standing

  • Graduate of Highwood High School.  
  • Attendance at post-secondary institution.  
  • Demonstrated citizenship and positive attitude.

  • Extra-curricular involvement.
  • Financial need.
  • Demonstrated success in part-time employment in High River.

  • Further study at a post-secondary institution immediately following graduation

     J. Patrick Clark Scholarship    
Primary Criteria:  
  • Graduate of Highwood High School.
  • One or more students who have attained excellent marks in examinations in music (either vocal or instrumental).
  • Be used for post-secondary studies.
  • If no students qualify under section 2, then students with excellent marks in other academic subjects qualify.

Primary Criteria:
  • Continuing with post-secondary education

  • Grad of Highwood High School (and a student who has attended Highwood High School for at least two full years)

  • About to commence education in the field of agriculture.

Primary Criteria:  
To be awarded for excellence in one of the following:
  • Drama: any promising Highwood High School student involved in the Drama Program 
  • Music: a student participating in the Music program and who is also taking formal instruction
  • Fine Arts: a student enrolled in the Fine Arts Program

Primary Criteria:  
  • Grade 12 graduate in year of award.
  • Must be continuing education in a post-secondary institution.
  • Students pursuing a course in Art will have preference over others.
  • Academic proficiency.
  • Student has a positive attitude and strives for excellence in their chosen field.

Primary Criteria:
  • Art 30 student
  • Exhibited technical skill, care in presentation, creativity, and understanding of technique, style and media in art assignments
  • Exhibited self-discipline with completion of assignments and continued work in artistic skills
  • Exhibited enthusiasm and a willingness to work hard

     Showtime Production Bursary    
Primary Criteria:
  • Graduating Theatre student
  • Enrolled in the Theatre Performance class and/or Advanced Acting class for a minimum of 3 semesters
  • Demonstrated a positive attitude & strong work ethic 
  • Actively involved in all aspects of each production
  • Contributed to the program through commitment & team play
The purpose of this bursary is to acknowledge, celebrate and say "Bravo" to the outstanding contributions made by a theatre performance student in our ‘Showtime!’ productions.
