Welcome Back!

sc

Hello Mustang Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are excited to welcome our students back and wanted to share some important information to help everyone prepare for a successful start to the year.

Important Start-of-Year Information

  • First Day of School: The first day of classes for all students is Monday, August 31. Please note that there will be no Grade 9 transition day for Highwood students this year.

  • New Bell Schedule: Attached is our 2026-2027 bell schedule. Please note that it is different from last year's schedule.

  • Grade-Level Assembly: On Monday, students should report directly to their A Block class. Grade-level assemblies will take place in the morning, and students will be called to the gymnasium from their classrooms.

  • Timetable Changes: Please email Mrs. Derakhshan at derakhshanp@fsd38.ab.ca

  • Student Schedules and Lockers: Students can log in to Edsembli to view their class schedules and locker assignments.
Yearbooks Have Arrived: The 2025-2026 yearbooks have arrived. Students who purchased a yearbook may pick it up from the school office. A limited number of extra copies are also available for purchase for $40. Please contact or visit the office to purchase a yearbook while supplies last.

  • Mustang Café Closure: Due to renovations and enhancements in the Foods room, the Mustang Café will be closed for the entire school year. Students should plan to bring a packed lunch or purchase food off campus. Students enrolled in the school lunch program will continue to receive their lunches without interruption.

  • Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up: The area directly in front of the school is reserved for buses. To help ensure student safety and smooth traffic flow, please do not drop off or pick up students at the front entrance. Instead, please use the designated loop area for student drop-off and pick-up.

  • Personal Electronic Devices: In accordance with Alberta government guidelines, personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smartphones, smartwatches, headphones, Meta Smart-Wear, and earbuds, must be turned off and stored out of sight during instructional time. Students may use their devices before school, during lunch, and after school.

We look forward to a fantastic year of learning, growth, and school spirit. Thank you for your support, and we can't wait to see everyone on August 31!

Highwood High School Office Team,

Go Mustangs!
