2026–2027 Instructional Calendar updated following Government of Alberta request
At the request of the Government of Alberta to support the use of schools as voting locations on October 19, 2026, the Foothills School Division Board of Trustees has approved a change to the 2026–2027 school year calendar:
The previously scheduled professional learning day of Friday, October 23, 2026, has been moved to Monday, October 19, 2026. This change ensures a non‑instructional day for students while schools are in use by the public as voting stations.
No instructional days have been added or removed as a result of this change. Foothills School Division thanks students, families, and staff for their flexibility as we support democratic processes while continuing to prioritize safe and effective learning environments.
