2024-2025 Year End Message from Board of Trustees

As the 2024–2025 school year comes to a close, the Board of Trustees would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the students, families, staff, and community members who make Foothills School Division an exceptional place to learn and grow.

This year has brought its share of both opportunities and challenges. Despite ongoing pressures around funding, transportation, and provincial changes to legislation, our schools continue to embody what makes public education in Foothills so special: caring relationships, innovative learning, and a steadfast commitment to every student’s success.

Across our classrooms, fields, theatres, and hallways, we’ve seen remarkable achievements — from academic milestones and athletic accomplishments to student leadership and acts of kindness that remind us of the strength of this community. We’ve also celebrated retirements, service milestones, and the incredible work of staff who give so much to support learners every day.

As a Board, our work this year has focused on strong governance, responsible stewardship of resources, and ongoing advocacy to ensure rural students have access to quality education, programs, and opportunities that meet their unique needs. Together with our Superintendent, we’ve also continued to align policies and priorities with the values of inclusion, excellence, and student well-being. This advocacy remains our focus as we transition into the coming school year, continuing to work alongside our communities to support student success.

To all those who are graduating from our Division — students and retirees alike — congratulations! You leave a lasting impact on your schools, and we are proud of all you have accomplished. Whether you’re stepping into new learning, new opportunities, or a well-earned retirement, your contributions have helped shape our Division, and your presence will be missed.

To our entire Foothills community, thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your unwavering support of public education. We wish you a safe, restful, and joyful summer. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in the fall, ready to continue this important work together.
