COVID - Update January 2022

Happy New Year and Welcome Back!  We are excited to have staff and students back in the building.  We are so thankful that you all continue to put your trust in us as we navigate this pandemic and all the changes it continues to bring.  Our Exec Team has been working hard to communicate effectively and set us up for success.  Please find the latest Alberta Daily Health Checklist for students.  The updated FSD Covid Handbook can be found here.   We would like to point out from the handbook that AHS Public Health is no longer informing school authorities of confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the school setting.  As a result, Foothills School Division will no longer be sending notifications to staff or parents of a confirmed case within the school setting.

Here are a few reminders:

Students cannot come to school sick and/or with symptoms. Even if a COVID test says negative. We know this may cause higher attendance issues, but it is mandated at this time during the pandemic. Please call the office or email tvattendance@fsd38.ab.ca.

  1. At this time, we do not have the masks or test kits provided by the Government of Alberta, however, we will continue to keep families informed.  We want to make sure that it is clear, that we will NOT be administering tests at school and testing kits will only be provided to families who are interested.
  2. We will continue to monitor mask use within the school as directed by the government.  K-3 – masks are recommended and 4-6 are required.  Masks are required for K-6 while on the school bus.
  3. All parents/guardians entering the building please wear a mask, if you are picking your child up during the day, please call the office when you arrive, and we will send your child out to the car.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to the school at (403) 938-7359.
