Read-a-thon

The Read-a-Thon is quickly approaching! Read-a-Thon will run from February 1 to 29, 2024. Our school committee has lots of fun events planned, please watch for more details in the coming weeks. We will be meeting with our students to show them some of the amazing prizes they can win! Read-a-Thon pledge forms and the reading tracker will be sent home on the Friday, January 26. 

We will be running our Popcorn Day as well as part of Read-a-Thon. Popcorn Day will be on Friday, February 9. Pre-orders can be sent in starting Monday, January 22. The cost is $2.00/bag and they MUST be pre-ordered no later than Wednesday, January 31. Elementary students can order with their teachers and Junior High students can order in the office. 

The Read-a-thon committee is also planning a book swap for all students on January 29 and 30. Kindergarten to Grade 3 students will come at their first recess and Grade 4-6 students at second recess. Junior High students can browse the books during their lunch break. We are asking that students bring in a book(s) to donate to the swap next week and then can come by and pick a new to them on the following week. Book donations can be dropped by the Learning Commons.
