Wellness Dog Visit

We want to advise that there will be a Wellness Dog in our school on Monday, May 26th, to visit with various students throughout the school. 
 
The Wellness Dog is assessed and certified through Chimo Animal Assisted Wellness and Learning Society (CAAWLS). They have current up to date vaccinations and are in good health. The handlers have all undergone criminal record checks with vulnerable sector and child intervention checks. The dog will be contained to one area of the school, but it is possible that any students may encounter them as they move throughout the school.
 
For additional information on therapy dogs within schools, you can refer to Foothills School Division Administrative Procedure 314.
