Student Awards and Recognition
Westmount School recognition program provides opportunities for students to be recognized for attaining various levels of excellence. We believe that positive recognition is a powerful tool for building character, encouraging a quest for excellence, and improving self-esteem and confidence.

Honour Roll with Distinction | Across all core subjects for Term 1 and 2 (ELA, SS, Math, Science, PE), students earning Honour Roll with Distinction will have attained all marks above 90.0% with a maximum of one mark between 80.0% and 90.0%.

Leaders of the Pack | Each year, one student will be selected from grade 7, 8, and 9 classes for outstanding leadership, the contributions they have made to Westmount School and for living our WMS Core Values.

Athlete of the Year | Each year, 2 athletes from Gr 7, 8 and 9 classes will be chosen by the athletics/coaching staff for Athletes of the Year. Athletes must have played on at least two school teams, displayed sportsmanship and etiquette on and off the field/court, must be in sound academic standing, have good classroom attendance, at games and practices, display positive leadership and living the WMS Core Values.

Fine Arts Achievement
| Each year, one student will be selected from grade 7, 8, and 9 classes demonstrating dedication and excellence in the fine arts (art, drama, musical theatre) programming at Westmount School. | 7-9 | Teacher Nomination |
Tom Taylor Outstanding Music | Each year, one student will be selected from grade 9 band who has demonstrated a great attitude towards life-long learning, performance, dedication, musicality, musicianship skills, technique, and motivation to help others in the ensemble.
