Corre Mahan to join Spitzee School as Vice Principal in Fall 2026
Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Corre Mahan as Vice Principal at Spitzee School, effective August 21, 2026.
Corre is an experienced educator and school leader with over fifteen years of experience in K–6 education and a strong background in inclusive education, early learning, and instructional leadership. She has been serving as Vice-Principal at École Joe Clark School since 2024, following a period as Acting Vice-Principal beginning in January 2023. In this role, Corre has been an integral member of the school’s shared leadership team and has supported a strong culture of engagement, support, and success for all learners.
Prior to and alongside her administrative role, Corre worked as a Learning Coach and classroom teacher at ÉJCS, where she supported early literacy and numeracy development, inclusive learning practices, and coordinated supports for diverse learners. Her leadership practice is grounded in collaboration, collective efficacy, and an understanding that effective relationships are essential for all members of the learning community to flourish.
A reflective and lifelong learner, Corre completed FSD’s Learning and Leading program in 2022/2023. Corre holds a Master of Education from the University of Calgary and Bachelor of Elementary Education from the University of Alberta.
Corre brings a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centred approach to leadership. Her experience as a school-based administrator and her strong understanding of inclusive and early learning environments position her well to support the continued growth and success of the Spitzee School community.
As she prepares to join the team at Spitzee School, Ms. Mahan provides, “It has been my sincere privilege to be a Bronco for the past ten years, and Joe Clark School will always hold a very special place in my heart. The relationships built, shared experiences, and strong sense of community I have been fortunate to be part of have profoundly shaped my professional journey, and I am deeply grateful for my time here. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I am thankful for the opportunity to join a new school community as I move across town. I am excited to be joining the Eagles and am grateful to become part of a school community known for its strong leadership, collaboration, and commitment to students. I look forward to connecting, leading, serving, and soaring alongside the Spitzee community.”
