Sarah Clark, appointed Principal, Dr. Morris Gibson School and Foothills Digital School

Foothills School Division is excited to share that Ms. Sarah Clark will be the new principal of Dr. Morris Gibson School (DMG) and the Foothills Digital School (FDS) effective January 9, 2023. 

Ms. Clark brings wide-ranging leadership experiences to this role that will complement the excellent staff teams of DMG and FDS. Sarah joined Foothills School Division in 2012 as Vice Principal of École Joe Clark School. Subsequently, Sarah has served as Division Principal of Alternative Programming (2014-2016), Principal of Cameron Crossing and Colony Schools (2016-2018), Principal of FSD Summer School, and most recently, Principal of École Joe Clark School (2018-2022). 

In addition to her school leadership experience, Sarah is an accomplished teacher and has diverse instructional practice in Language Learning programs, early literacy and numeracy acquisition, high school programming and post-secondary instruction where she served as an instructor and practicum supervisor at King’s University in Edmonton. Sarah’s system-level experience, servant leadership approach, capacity to develop shared leadership with all stakeholders, and focus on student and staff well-being will positively support the students and staff teams of DMG and FDS.

Sarah holds a Master of Education from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Education from St. Thomas University and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University. 

As she prepares to join the teams at both DMG and FDS Sarah shares: “I am excited to join the DMG and FDS teams in the new year."

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chris Fuzessy adds, "We are happy to introduce Ms. Sarah Clark as the new Principal of both the Foothills Digital School and Dr. Morris Gibson School. Ms. Clark brings a wealth of teaching and school leadership experience from K to 12 to this new role. Ms. Clark has great experience in building innovative digital learning environments, working in roles that support the entire Division, and supporting engaging and community-centred schools. Her deep understanding of quality teaching and learning, and providing this in innovative ways will undoubtedly lead to the continuing success of both schools. Congratulations Ms. Clark!"
