Reporting and Communication

Westmount School Protocols

The evaluation of student progress is a continuous process.  Some examples include home and school conferences, celebrations of learning, progress reports, student led conferences, and student portfolios.

Teachers assess student understanding by consistently compiling and reviewing student work both formatively and summatively throughout the year.  Marks can be viewed on Maplewood throughout the school year.  Access to marks may be closed throughout the year to allow for the preparation of Learner Profiles to be sent home.

Learner Profiles will be emailed home in November and March.  The final Learner Profile will be printed and sent home in June.

While three formal reports are issued during the year, parents are encouraged to maintain ongoing contact with teachers regarding their child’s progress.
