ATM: Friends of Foothills Schools Foundation

The Friends of Foothills Schools Foundation (The Foundation) is officially up and running!  It has taken 3 years of work to get to this point, and we are so excited to have this support for our students, schools and families. Bridging the gap between available funding and educational needs, the Foundation’s work will focus on raising funds, raising awareness, and raising support for Foothills School Division.

With this in mind, the Foundation’s vision, mission and goals are:

• Vision: Friends of Foothills Schools Foundation’s vision is to remove financial barriers that impede academic success. 
• Mission: To build a community that empowers the students of Foothills School Division.  
• Goals:
  1. To generate revenue to redistribute into schools.
  2. To remove barriers that may impede academic success.
  3. To promote innovative projects that contribute to a flourishing educational community.
  4. To be recognized as a leader in the community.

The Foundation recently hired an executive director, has a growing board of directors, and will hold its first annual general meeting soon. There is much work to do to set the Foundation up for success in working alongside school councils and school fundraising societies to advance engagement, support, and success across the division. It is an exciting time for our learning community. Through your involvement in the Foundation, you will be empowering an even higher quality of education in FSD.
