Tick Season is Here
As spring arrives in the Foothills, our school communities are spending more time outdoors for learning, play, and activities. With this seasonal shift, we’re sharing a brief reminder about tick awareness and simple safety precautions.
Ticks are commonly found in grassy, brushy, and wooded areas, which are part of many natural spaces in our region. Here are a few prevention tips:
- Avoid tall grass or dense brush when possible.
- Long sleeves, long pants, and closed‑toe shoes offer added protection during outdoor activities.
- Light‑coloured clothing makes ticks easier to spot.
- After time outdoors check clothing and exposed skin for ticks.
Outdoor learning and play are important parts of student well‑being, and with a few simple precautions, we can continue to enjoy the natural environment that makes our communities special.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in keeping our schools safe, respectful, and responsible.
