Rona Reid appointed Principal at École Percy Pegler School

Foothills School Division is pleased to announce the following School Leadership appointment for the 2023-2024 School Year 
Please join us in congratulating Rona Reid who has been appointed Principal of École Percy Pegler School, effective August 31, 2023.  


With this appointment, Ms. Reid moves from her Acting Principal role to Principal for the 2023/2024 school year. This year at ÉPPE Rona has developed strong relationships with all stakeholders in the school community. Her passion for students and support for their success is recognized in her school leadership. She fosters strong engagement with families and demonstrates a commitment to supporting all students within an inclusive environment.  


Prior to joining the ÉPPS team in 2022, Rona served Divisional Instructional Coach working with four schools across Foothills School Division. In 2018, Ms. Reid joined the administrative team at École Secondaire Foothills Composite High School / Alberta High School of Fine Arts in the role of vice-principal. In addition to her experience at Foothills School Division beginning in 2016, Ms. Reid has held numerous roles as a teacher and instructional leader with two other Alberta school authorities.   


Rona holds her Master of Education from the University of Calgary; her Bachelor of Education from the University of New Brunswick; and her Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University.   


As she assumes the role of Principal at ÉPPS, Rona shares: "Spending this last year at École Percy Pegler has been an incredible honour. I am so grateful to continue working alongside the Panther team to continue growing a thriving learning environment for all!"  


Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Chris Fuzessy, provides: “A word of thanks and appreciation to Mrs. Reid for her leadership at the school this year. I know that the staff team and school community will join me in this expression of gratitude. We are happy to confirm that Mrs. Reid will continue to lead the work at the school into the future. Her deep knowledge of high-quality teaching and learning are a great asset to a wonderful school team and community."
